Audi urban concept
Audi urban concept
Audi, is the “urban concept” one possible answer to the questions of urban mobility tomorrow. The 1 +1 seater is aimed strictly at large and is made of lightweight parts made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. As was suggested already, the little city-Jet is powered by two electric motors which are powered by a modern lithium-ion battery.

When boarding is a little “Top Gun-feeling”, because the roof can be opened like the dome of a fighter jet to the rear, allowing the entry. The final concept vehicle bears incidentally generously sized 21-inch wheels. On two individual seats are diagonally offset driver and a passenger space.

The urban concept, Audi has a slim body design. The wheels are free of their surrounding guards wear indicator strips of LED light pipes. The highly concentrated look of the art study with its forward-moving lines is dynamic and emotional – it gives the design language of Audi’s entirely new impetus.

On board are two persons, slightly behind one another, place, and they sit deep sporty. All the controls and materials are the dictates of the ultra-lightweight design subject, so that they provide a unique, sensual fascination. The driver can adjust the steering wheel and pedals to its body size. Entry is via the lift. The roof dome is designed to be movable and can be opened by sliding backwards.

The Audi technology of urban concept reflects the full competence against the mark, especially the ultra-lightweight. The monocoque is made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP), it integrates the substructures of the two seats. It rolls on wheels with 21 inch diameter.

What Has Contributed to Audi's Success?

Audi
Audi
There seems to be no limit for the Audi brand this year. The company has set a new record with 652,970 deliveries of Audi vehicles worldwide in the first six months of 2011. In 2010, the company sold 554,864 vehicles. This means an increase of 23 percent in revenue compared to last year.

Let's wrap our mind around this for just a second: 21.5 billion in revenue (EUR) in six months! That's around 30 billion U.S. dollars...

Axel Strotbek, Board Member for Finance and Organization, said that this increase is due to "the significant rise in deliveries, an improved model mix and our continual cost optimization measures."

I think a combination of great marketing and the variety in models has made a significant impact on Audi's success. They've developed models that fit just about any type of lifestyle. If you're someone who wants to conserve on fuel, but you like SUV's, there's the Audi Q7...or if you like prestigious four door sedans with all the bells and whistles, there's the A8. If you have a fast life and like fast, luxurious cars, there's the R8. Audi has a car for every personality.

2011 Audi Q1 Crossover
Audi has hinted at launching a new Q3 compact crossover positioned below the Q5 ever since the debut of 2007’s Cross Coupe quattro concept. However, an even smaller soft-roader is expected to be launched to help Audi reach its goal of delivering 40 different models by 2015. The new entry-level soft-roader is likely to be called the Q1 and latest reports claim it won’t come onto the market until late 2012 at the earliest.

Rising fuel prices are causing buyers of large SUVs to downsize to smaller and more fuel efficient vehicles, but many don’t want to give up some of the unique characteristics of their SUVs – namely, the taller ride height and line of sight. Carmakers are predicting strong growth in the compact SUV segment and are racing to develop a new generation of tiny soft-roaders. Audi’s parent company, Volkswagen, is expected to launch a new SUV version of its next-generation Polo and BMW is currently testing prototypes for its new X1.

The new Q1 is expected to be based on Audi’s upcoming A1 minicar, which itself will be based on a modified Polo platform. The car will measure approximately 3.95m in length and will feature a coupe-styled body. Both two and four-door versions are expected to be released.

Power will come from a 1.4L TFSI four-cylinder engine producing 125hp (93kW) or a TSI unit with 150hp (112kW). Diesel fans will be able to pick from a 1.2L TDI with 80hp (60kW) or a 1.6L TDI with 120hp (90kW).

2014 Audi TT
The smallest car in Audi’s lineup, the Audi TT (Tourist Trophy), started its life back in 1998 after being previewed by a first concept car in 1995. The second generation TT was then unveiled 8 years later - in 2006 - and was still offered in both coupe and roadster versions. Now, we hear that the third generation Audi TT will be unveiled in 2014, following the eight year pattern set by the first and second generations. This generation will debut as a coupe version with a roadster set to follow a few months later.

The current Audi TT is being built on the Volkswagen’s PQ35 platform – which offers a front engine chassis and front or all wheel drive powertrain, but for the next TT things are going to change a lot.The Audi TT will be built on an entirely new platform, that will offer a mid-engine configuration. This will help improve both balance and handling.Under the hood Audi will place the conventional 1.4 liter TSI engine with 186 HP and a 2.0 TDI engine with 170 HP. For the top version model, the TT-RS, expect to see a 350 HP 2.5 five-cylinder engine.

We expect some big changes to occur with the third generation Audi TT. Mainly, we expect to see a sportier and aggressive design language inspired by the latest E-tron concept car. Of course, Audi will want to make a differentiate between the TT and the future R4 (or R5 as it is lately rumored to be called), but we still expect to see a new front grille, new headlamps with LED light, and a modified rear.

Audi Q3 RS

Audi Q3 RS
While not even sure if there really ever an RS Q5 will be Audi’s boss Rupert Stadler has said that is the youngest member in the Audi family gets an RS badge.

Under the hood of the RS Q3 is no blown V6 or V8 Spielerei lie. No, it’s the acclaimed 2.5-liter five-cylinder from the TT-RS and RS3 , which may provide the necessary horsepower to make. Quite logical, and if we in AM & S to be believed, the ability to reach 300 hp. Forty horsepower less than in the aforementioned RS cars.

Q3 If the RS is coming it is of course wait for the answer in the form of a BMW X1 M version. Yep, you read that correctly. / / / M logos and a blown turbo six-cylinder for the city mothers with haste, and according to the rumor mill comes, “he happening.

And that RS Q3 we could recognize a fierce look with wide fenders, rims and bling-ditto mirror? Nope, it’s not in the planning for this RS’je. There is just a special paint finish is available for the top model of the Q3. Actually this is a RS-light.The Audi engineers are currently busy testing the 2.5-liter vijfpitter the soft roader in 2012 rolls in and out of the showrooms.

To celebrate this year’s Audi for the 10th time the 24 hours of Le Mans wins is a very tasty special design on the market.

This special version is for once not based on the R8 V10 , but just the same old R8 4.2 V8 in the back. 100 copies will be supplied and you can leave R8 include spraying with titanium in a shade effect. The 19 “wide rims are painted the same color behind it and you see bright red brake calipers ( as with the R8 GT ).

In the interior, the red regularly. We see red stitching and certain parts of the interior with red leather finish, because that obviously puts so good against that boring black leather. Fortunately, there is the option to choose a package which also includes carbon from carbon fiber side blades, and a mirror cover for the engine.

The 4.2 V8 is squeezed in the back there are still 430 Nm pk/430 and sprint in 4.6 seconds to 100 km / h. The top speed is 301 km / h. And in terms of transmission’s can choose from a 6-speed manual or R tronic. The bad news is that this particular R8 alone on that island on the other side of the North Sea will be sold.

Audi aims to continue its string of victories at the Le Mans 24 Hours with a completely new LMP1 sports car development. Since its debut in 1999, the brand with the Four Rings has won the world's most important endurance race as many as nine times with the R8, R10 TDI and R15 TDI models. In doing so, Audi has equaled this feat in the race's roll of honor with Ferrari. With the new Audi R18, which was presented at the Audi Sportpark in Ingolstadt on the evening of Friday, December 10, 2010, Audi is aiming for its tenth Le Mans success in 2011.

For the first time since 1999, Audi will contest Le Mans with a closed coupe again. "In the future, aerodynamic efficiency will be even more important at Le Mans than it was in the past," says Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich. "A closed car has clear advantages in this respect. Our computer simulations have been confirmed in the wind tunnel and during initial track tests."

Significantly smaller engines than those used before will be prescribed at Le Mans in 2011 as the rule makers aim to achieve a substantial reduction of engine power. By opting for a 3.7-liter V6 TDI unit, Audi retains the diesel concept that saw its first victorious fielding in 2006. "From our point of view, the TDI continues to be the most efficient technology," says Ulrich Baretzky, Head of Engine Development at Audi Sport. "There are good reasons why the share of TDI units among Audi's production models is as high as it is."

2012 Audi A5 changes

2012 Audi A5 changes
2012 Audi A5 changes
At the IAA in Frankfurt, they are ready the Coupe, Convertible and Sportback.
3.0TFSI The S5 gets the engine in with 333 hp.

The S5 Coupe with its debut in 2007 was an eight-cylinder engine under the hood. A large block of 4.2 liters with an output of 354 hp. Enough to sprint 0-100 km / h in 5.1 seconds to complete. The top speed electronically limited, however, on the predictable 250 km / h. Less than eighteen months later, Audi presented the opening performance. This S5 Cabriolet had a different engine in the forecastle. Audi chose a six cylinder. Although equipped with a compressor, which is still 333 hp sixes in four driving wheels could go. By fractionally lower power and higher vehicle weight was open four-seater 0.5 seconds to return a sprint 0-100 km / h Top speed? Course, limited to 250 km / h.

CO2 EMISSIONS
Audi first showed that a blown sixes better with the character of the Cabriolet fits a V8 engine. For the CoupƩ is the opposite, claims the manufacturer. That place would make the V8 for a V6 with air accelerator was after seeing the logical usage rate. Two fewer cylinders means (on paper) a decrease of 30 g / km of CO2.

FACELIFT
The S5 and A5-types get a restyled front from September, with an emphasis on slightly different light units and a more angular grille. The RS5 will retain its eight-cylinder.

2011 Audi Q7 TDI
Audi Q7 TDI have done a lot to change the perception that diesel vehicles are crude, stinky, black smoke-spewers, and the company's lone turbodiesel SUV gets even better for 2011. Thanks to the 406 pound-feet of torque at a low, low 1750 rpm, it takes very little throttle to accelerate or pass in traffic. Braking is precise, and the discs respond seemingly instantly to driver input. At the track, the TDI went from 0 to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds, which is about a second slower than the gas 4.2-liter V-8 we tested a couple years ago and the 2011 got through the quarter mile in 16.5 seconds at 82.

The 2011 Audi Q7 quattro has two new engines this year. The new engines are intriguing, however. Both are 3.0-liter engines. Not only does blown six make more power than the naturally-aspirated eight, Audi notes that it's some 16 percent more fuel efficient. The 2011 Audi Q7 we are reviewing is the Q7 TDI. The 3.0 TDI is the same turbodiesel V-6 as used in the recently tested 2011 Volkswagen Touareg TDI, rated at 225 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, and like the Touareg has the same eight-speed automatic transmission. And like the Touareg, has standard all-wheel drive, although for the Q7 it Audi's proprietary quattro system.
The Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg are not, however, badge-engineered corporate kin. The Audi is longer, with five more inches between the front and rear axles, and seats up to seven. The Touareg has only two rows of seats.

Audi claims 8.5 seconds for the zero-to-sixty mph dash. Standard towing capacity is 5,500lbs (with a 550 pound tongue-weight), plus there's a trailer hitch package that includes a tow bar and increased cooling capacity, increasing tow rating to 6,600lbs (with a 660 pound tongue-weight).
The EPA rating for the 2011 Audi Q7 TDI is 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, however we found that we were able to get 24.0 mpg with mostly highway driving, with 19.7 mpg in mixed all-around driving in cold weather and hilly terrain, both having a negative impact on fuel economy numbers.

AUDI A1

AUDI A1
AUDI A1
A1 1.6 TDI falls even further from this week as an even more fuel efficient version of the frugal premium sub-compact hatchback shrugs off road tax and the London congestion charge through a lower 99g/km CO2 output. Improved 74.3mpg economy potential, and unchanged OTR prices for the SE, Sport and S line models ranging from £14,480 to £17,865, also help to make the thriftiest A1 an even more desirable proposition.

Further optimisation of the fuel system and engine management unit has reduced the CO2 output of the A1 1.6 TDI from 105g/km to 99g/km, and boosted its official combined economy figure from 70.6mpg to 74.3mpg. As before, the achievement of these outstanding figures is aided by engine start-stop and energy recuperation systems.

The performance delivered by the turbo charged and directly injected common rail unit also remains as keen as ever. The A1 1.6 TDI with five-speed manual transmission sprints from rest to 62mph in 10.5 seconds, and where conditions allow can reach a top speed of 118mph.

The advantage held by the revised 1.6 TDI won’t only be felt at the filling station. With CO2 dipping below the 100g/km mark it is exempt from the London congestion charge, and also from Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) from year 2 onwards as the duty bandings currently stand. The majority of A1 models, including the 1.6 TDI, are already duty-free in the first year of ownership.

The A1 1.6 TDI with 99g output can be ordered in all three UK A1 trim levels – SE, Sport and S line. Features common to all include alloy wheels, remote central locking, air conditioning, electric front windows and mirrors and a six-speaker single CD audio system with auxiliary iPod connection linked to a 6.5-inch retractable display.

Project Kahn have released today the first images with their newest project, an upgrade program for the Audi TT called TR8. The whole theme of this new customization program for the TT was inspired by the car’s bigger and way more expensive “brother”, the Audi R8, hence the TR8 name.

The Project Kahn Audi TT TR8 received a new front bumper inspired by the R8, a lower front apron, new side skirts, a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser and a discreet boot lid spoiler. The new exterior look was completed with an elegant gray and black finish and a new set of bespoke 20″ RSV light alloy wheels wrapped in new tires.

We don’t have any images of the car’s interior yet, but Project Kahn will probably continue with the same theme as the exterior inside the cockpit as well. More details about the Project Kahn Audi TT TR8 such as pricing and more images will be released by the UK tuners in the next week.

The New redesigned Audi Q7 was made to offer a sleek, up-to-date design that will please any consumer. Not to mention the interior of the Audi Q7 features new technology upgrades that enables navigating city streets like never before. A staggering seven inch LCD display is strategically linked to the MMI navigation system inside the Q7. This new navigation system can offer real time audible directions and traffic updates. It also contains a hard drive to program routes that are frequently visited.

This Limo From Audi looks very unusual. There is room for 16 passengers, a door that opens upward, neon lights, LCD televisions and accessories necessary to cleanly to a party in a limo. Of course, we rarely see him because of this super luxury vehicle was owned only by a few people and rich, perhaps politicians, artists or entrepreneurs with oil revenues that is difficult to imagine. Certainly reasonable if we want to ask, how many people who never ride the limo? You know the answer. (SS)

It was after this session of tea, gossip and lots of car talk that my friend took over the driving chores for another round of trashing, er, driving. It was during this session we found out that the hard corners that I did wasn't hard enough as we were able to put the barn into a slightly four wheel drift while blasting through a sweeping corner. Surprisingly the ESP, if it was in operation, was not intrusive at all and the adjustable (at a push of a button) suspension was hard in its sports/dynamic setting but never uncomfortable. Body roll was kept in check and a barn danced like a hippo in a tutu. Bulky yet able to do some ballet.
